And the finished product turned out great! This boat slip with braces along both sides didn't allow for the entire slip to be protected with our traditional Spider Diaper®. (See our previous post) No problem. We fabricated this one with two strips of hanging tape to allow the center to be secured to the rafters and the sides secured to the cables. Perfect fit!
SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO ADAPT
In the marina industry, there don't seem to be many standard specifications that are consistently found from one marina's boat slips to the next. Not everyone has a neat rectangular area to install a Spider Diaper®. Here's a project we're currently working on where the roof support brackets prevent a simple horizontal installation. Our solution is to provide two strips of "hanging tape" the length of the sides which will attach to the rafters for a secure anchor point. The Spider Diaper® is then dropped down and anchored to a cable, thus providing full coverage of the entire slip.
